Random Act of Kindness!

Our Heart Beats only for Love

A 21-year-old Mentally retarded girl and her single mother are residing in a slum in Chennai and the mother who is a daily wager is the soul bread winner. The father passed away years before. On August 13, 2020, when she was sleeping in her hut on the roadside with her mother, three offenders brutally sexually assaulted the girl and raped her showing the knife to her mother. Following which the case has been registered at Kilpauk Police Station and necessary actions were being taken by Tamilnadu Association for the rights all types of differently abled and caregivers and the Police Department, Crime against Women and Children Wing. Going forward, Project Future India Trust will work on the victim compensation from Nirbhaya Fund for the girl. Meanwhile, request has been brought to us by Thozhar Manonmani for following things.

They don’t have a stove and provisions for cooking food. The girl does not even have a proper dress to wear.

MATERIALS DISTRIBUTED:  We gave them provisions for 2 months, churidhars from SOCH, bras, panties, slips from Naidu Hall, a Pigeon brand gas stove. Project Future India Trust and Namdhesam Foundation had handed over the things to the girl and mother. We wholeheartedly thank the contributors for their humanity. Humanity wins forever .

It is heartbreaking to see such inhumane acts. It is not only the responsibility of a vulnerable mother to protect a mentally retarded girl, it is the responsibility of the society too to stand with the differently abled and protect them.
